Automatic expense capture
Short answerCouplesplit records a purchase as soon as your bank’s notification or Apple Pay confirms it, so you never type it in. It never asks for bank passwords and never connects to your bank: it reads the notification your phone already receives.
On iPhone, capture runs through an automation in Apple’s Shortcuts app. Couplesplit gives you a ready-made shortcut and a short video for each source. Apple Pay works on iOS 18 and later; bank notifications need iOS 27, the first version where Shortcuts can start from a notification.
Android is coming soon. There, you will allow notification access once, and Couplesplit will only look at a fixed list of bank and wallet apps, including Google Wallet.
Captured purchases always land in Mine, where only you can see them, until you decide to share them. Your phone reads the notification itself whenever it can. When it cannot, and only if you allowed it, a masked copy is read by AI: card and account numbers, codes, links and names are replaced before it leaves your phone, and the text is not stored.
