What is included
The workbook contains a Start Here guide, an Expenses table with formulas, a Dashboard with household totals and balance, and editable Lists for partner names and categories.
How to use it
Enter each shared expense once. Choose the payer, amount, whether it is shared, and the percentage assigned to Partner A. Partner B and the final balance update automatically.
How the balance works
The workbook compares what each person paid with what each person was responsible for. A positive net amount means that person fronted more than their share; the other partner owes the difference.
When to move beyond a spreadsheet
A spreadsheet is a good test of your rules. An app becomes useful when manual entry, mobile access, recurring charges, travel currencies, reports, reminders, or explaining the final balance start taking too much time.
Download the template
Download the .xlsx file directly. It contains no macros, external data connections, or hidden tracking. You can rename both partners and edit the category list.
